What is Reiki?The Japanese word Reiki means “Universal Life Energy”. Reiki is a spiritual healing practice designed to balance subtle spiritual energy “chi”, reduce stress and anxiety, and promote relaxation. The National Institute Of Health says “Reiki is a complementary health approach in which practitioners place their hands lightly on or just above a person, with the goal of facilitating the person’s own healing response. Reiki is based on an Eastern belief in an energy that supports the body’s innate or natural healing abilities. Many people describe Reiki as being similar to meditation for its relaxing effects. REI = Higher Power, Wisdom and KI – Life Force Energy. The balance of our energy may be disrupted by stressful situations, resulting in tension, discomfort and even pain. Practitioners intend to improve energy flow, relaxing the client in order to enhance wellness. Reiki aims to restore the balance of the subtle energy of the body, the metaphysical realm, to promote innate healing through your higher spiritual connection and awareness. Reiki nurtures your connection to Spirit, bringing the benefits of relaxation with compassion, Light and Love to your Being.
What To Expect From A Reiki SessionAs a Reiki client, one may choose to recline comfortably or sit in a chair, fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner places her hands non-intrusively on the client, either lightly touching or just above the body in a selected sequence of positions. While the practitioner works, she may move her hands to various body regions based on her assessment of the client’s needs. Clients just relax and enjoy the peaceful breathing and guidance of spirit during Reiki. One may chat or simply relax during the session. It is refreshing!
How Many Reiki Sessions are advised?A single session may bring a deep sense of relaxation and connection to spirit. Additional sessions will contribute to a deeper sense of harmony and peace. Consult your Reiki practitioner to discuss the most beneficial schedule for you. We recommend following your intuition when deciding on the number and frequency of your Reiki sessions.
